Inspired by Obama’s annual list series, I decided to make my own compilation of my favorite books, movies, podcasts and the like of 2021.

Everybody Else is Perfect by Gabrielle Korn a memoir by the former editor-in-chief of Nylon, reflecting on her experiences as a young Millennial in New York while battling an eating disorder.

If I Had Your Face by Frances Cha a fiction book exploring social classes and plastic surgery through four friends in South Korea.

Clap When You Land by Elizabeth Acevedo a young adult novel-in-verse about two sisters grieving the loss of their father and the secrets he kept from them.

The Midnight Library by Matt Haig a surprisingly feel-good fantasy novel about a woman contemplating suicide.
